As Eureka continues to grow, one question has emerged repeatedly in community conversations and Town Halls: How do we ensure every member feels seen, connected, and exposed to opportunities across the organisation?
Addressing that question is central to the work of the Community Management & Education (CM&E) and Human Resources & People (Hr&P) circles. From onboarding new members to cultivating belonging, leadership, and continuous learning, the circles are intentionally building a community where every member has the opportunity to grow individually while strengthening Eureka collectively.
Both circles are led by Jyotsna Maan, affectionately known as Jyo, whose leadership has helped shape members’ experience of Eureka beyond project delivery. Through CM&E and Hr&P, she is helping build the systems, relationships, and opportunities that allow members not only to contribute to projects but also to grow, connect, and remain engaged with the organisation.
For Jyo, the roles of CM&E and HR&P go beyond managing processes, as building a community is intentional. It is about creating an environment where people feel like they belong. “Eureka is both a workplace and a community,” she explains. “People come here to contribute to projects, but they should also find connection, learning, support, and a sense of home.” This belief has guided much of the circle’s work over the last few years.
Having worked with professionals across different countries, cultures, and disciplines, she has seen how easily independent consultants can become isolated. While projects create opportunities to collaborate, a genuine connection often requires deliberate effort.
Her vision is for Eureka to be a place where people not only work together but also grow together.
Creating Pathways for Engagement and Belonging
One of the core responsibilities of CM&E is to ensure that members can meaningfully engage with Eureka, regardless of where they are in their journey. Whether someone joins a project, contributes to an initiative for a season, or remains connected over many years, the circle focuses on creating pathways that enable participation.
Through onboarding processes, member support systems, community events, newsletters, spotlights, and engagement initiatives, the circle helps members navigate the organisation and build relationships beyond individual projects. These circles contribute directly to one of Eureka’s broader goals: creating a community where independent consultants can find both professional opportunities and meaningful connections.
As Jyo reflects, “many consultants work independently and often navigate professional challenges alone“. Building a strong community like Eureka creates a support system that extends beyond project assignments and contracts.”
From Ideas to Operational Systems
Over the past two years, the team has transformed several community initiatives into sustainable organisational systems, including:
The Member Concierge function, The branded newsletter system, Seamless membership application and onboarding processes, Community storytelling and member spotlight initiatives and Workflow and scheduling automation experiments.
These improvements have created greater consistency in members’ experiences while allowing the team to spend less time maintaining systems and more time imagining what comes next.
As Jyo puts it, operational stability is not the end goal. It creates the foundation for new ideas and future growth.
Investing in Learning, Leadership, and Growth
With many operational systems now firmly established, the focus of Hr&P is increasingly shifting towards developing people. Rather than simply supporting members during onboarding, the circle is investing in how members continue to learn, lead, and contribute throughout their journey within Eureka.
Among the initiatives currently being developed are:
An integrated learning management system for Eureka members.
Leadership development pathways.
Practice Lead and incubation models that help consultants build expertise and develop their business development capabilities.
Quality standards and knowledge-sharing frameworks are referred to as “The Eureka Way.”
Exploration of AI-enabled tools and future-facing learning opportunities.
Collectively, these initiatives aim to strengthen member capacity while creating new ways for consultants to learn, collaborate, and lead within the Eureka ecosystem. This contribution extends beyond individual development. It helps build a stronger and more resilient organisation capable of adapting to future opportunities and challenges.
A Leadership Philosophy Rooted in Trust
Leading across diverse cultures and professional backgrounds has reinforced one lesson for Jyo: “Leadership is not about directing people. It is about creating environments where people can succeed together.”
Drawing on her experience in agile project management, Jyo has introduced systems that bring clarity, transparency, and accountability while preserving the creativity and flexibility that define Eureka’s culture. For her, leadership is less about having all the answers and more about creating the conditions where others can contribute their best work.
It is this philosophy that continues to shape both CM&E and Hr&P as people-centred circles built on trust, collaboration, and shared ownership.
Looking to the future, Jyo hopes more members will see themselves not only as participants in projects but as active contributors to Eureka’s continued evolution. Her vision is not simply to create opportunities for work, but to cultivate a community where members invest in one another’s growth, share knowledge generously, develop leadership skills, and collectively shape the organisation’s future.
Because while projects may bring people into Eureka, it is community, culture, and shared growth that encourage them to stay.
And as Eureka continues to grow, CM&E and Hr&P will continue ensuring that every member not only finds opportunities, but also finds a place where they are seen, supported, and inspired to contribute.
