Wahid thrives where complexity meets clarity. A certified data analyst and Excel expert, he has built systems at Eureka Idea Co. that turn sprawling datasets into streamlined tools, most notably designing the timesheet management system that now underpins every project.

His journey into data was not a straight path. Wahid studied computer science and engineering before pursuing a master’s degree in telecommunication engineering. He began his career as a telecom engineer but soon discovered a deeper passion for data. He immersed himself in data cleaning, processing, automation, and advanced Excel techniques, earning certifications from Microsoft as an Excel Expert and from Google as a Data Analyst. That foundation prepared him for a transition into consulting, where his skills could make a global impact.

Wahid joined Eureka Idea Co. in 2022, where he worked on the FIND Market Intelligent Hub project. The role required consolidating data from multiple sources into a clean, usable database—work that perfectly aligned with his expertise. The success of that collaboration paved the way for a lasting relationship with EIC, where Wahid went on to join the management team as a Data Manager.

Since then, he has led numerous high-impact initiatives at Eureka, most notably the development of “Blistered Peaches,” a Python-based data integration and analysis tool built to automate complex international trade data workflows. The project originated from a market analysis of COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits, which required consolidating fragmented datasets from Trade Atlas—a global import/export database with restrictive download limits. Wahid designed and implemented automated scripts that merged thousands of data files, standardised multiple currencies and measurement units, and applied logical triangulation to resolve missing or inconsistent entries. He further introduced a Data Quality Index (DQI) to quantify the reliability of processed data, ensuring that only high-quality, verifiable information informed final market visualisations. The “Blistered Peaches” system transformed what was once a tedious, error-prone manual process into a scalable, automated workflow—setting a new benchmark for data integrity and efficiency across Eureka’s analytics projects.

Wahid’s career has also been defined by lessons learned through challenges. Earlier in his career as a Radio Access Network Engineer, he experienced a team misconfiguration that caused a nationwide service disruption. As the line manager, Wahid assumed responsibility, devised a backup plan within an hour, and restored operations within 30 minutes. The experience reinforced the importance of calm leadership and meticulous disaster planning, skills that continue to inform his work today.

At Eureka, one of his proudest moments came when the company’s website went offline at the close of an important cycle. With little background in web development, Wahid delved into research and troubleshooting until the site was fully restored. The success boosted his confidence and cemented his reputation as someone who could solve problems beyond his formal role.

Outside of work, Wahid is equally driven. He is a passionate cyclist who has logged more than 40,000 kilometres, roughly equivalent to the Earth’s circumference. His rides range from daily commutes of 60 km to endurance challenges of up to 250 km in a single day. Alongside cycling, he enjoys photography and travelling, often blending all three by carrying his camera on rides to new destinations. These pursuits not only fuel his creativity but also bring balance and resilience to his professional life.

For Wahid, data is more than numbers—it’s about building systems, solving problems, and creating clarity from complexity. At Eureka Idea Co., his work continues to shape processes, strengthen accountability, and inspire his colleagues through both his professional achievements and his personal journey.
