From crunching numbers to crafting solutions for global challenges, Damian Fuller’s journey is a masterclass in turning passion into purpose.

At Eureka Idea Co., our story is driven by the passionate individuals who make up our team. Today, we shine a light on Damian Fuller, Managing Director and one of Eureka’s visionary co-founders, whose remarkable journey has been instrumental in shaping what Eureka represents today.

Damian’s path to Eureka is as diverse as it is inspiring. Starting his career as an accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Sydney, Damian quickly discovered his passion extended beyond financial systems. Transitioning into sustainability and climate change consulting, he embraced innovative roles that tackled carbon accountability and risk assessments. This early exposure to meaningful, impact-driven work laid the foundation for his eventual transition into global health.

His extensive career took him across continents, from sustainability projects in Timor Leste to health-focused initiatives in India and Lesotho. His time with organizations like the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) gave him unique insight into leveraging business skills for global health challenges. However, a pivotal realization during his years of travel led him to value community and collaboration, sparking the creation of Eureka.

Eureka was born out of a shared desire among independent consultants to collaborate while maintaining flexibility and autonomy. Damian reflects, “We missed working with high-performing, passionate teams, and Eureka became a way to combine autonomy with teamwork. It’s about trust, respect, and a shared drive to make an impact.”

Under Damian’s leadership, Eureka has thrived as a flat, multicultural consortium that seamlessly connects experts across the globe. Its success is rooted in delivering high-quality, impactful work—a principle that Damian says keeps clients returning year after year.

Among the many moments Damian treasures at Eureka, his pride in the team dynamics stands out. Reflecting on Eureka’s unique way, he shared, “Sometimes I log into a project or proposal channel on Slack, and I’m just blown away.”  This reflects the kind of collaboration and teamwork at Eureka, a remote organization where everyone takes ownership of their work and delivers high-quality results is interesting and needs to be studied.

For Damian, this is not just a testament to the platform or the tools used—it’s about the culture that Eureka fosters. “I’m proud of the people involved and what we’ve collectively achieved. The opportunity, the structure, and the ethos of Eureka bring this magic to life. This culture encourages collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to making a meaningful impact.

One of his proudest milestones came on Eureka’s fifth anniversary, a significant milestone for any business, especially one bootstrapped like theirs. Recalling the moment, he shared, “A friend from Sydney reminded me that 80% of businesses don’t make it past five years”. That was a real ‘wow’ moment—proof of the resilience, dedication, and trust we’ve built within this incredible team.”

Among his other achievements are the teams and projects he has helped nurture, including a project on menstrual hygiene management that highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing social issues and empowering adolescent girls and young women. He also values the enduring relationships within Eureka’s consortium, celebrating its members’ unique expertise and dedication.

When he’s not driving Eureka’s vision, Damian finds joy in sports, woodworking, and tending to his family’s hobby farm in Germany. Whether working in the forest or playing tennis, he cherishes the sense of connection and purpose these activities bring.

Damian’s journey exemplifies Eureka’s mission: blending professional expertise with a profound commitment to social impact. His story is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and the power of finding your tribe to create meaningful change.
